OHSS (Crit Care Med 2005;33(10):S301) Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is rare complication of ovarian stimulation for infertility. 0.5-5% of stimed ovaries marked ovarian enlargement and production of vasoactive substances such as cytokines, angiotensis, and vascular endothelial growth factor. Causes severe interstitial fluid shifts due to increased vascular permeability Edema, arterial dilation ascites are the first sign, usually Ascites, pleural fluid, pericardial fluid, electrolyte derangements, renal fx, Thromboembolic events
